Under Brazilian law (LGPD — Lei 13.709/2018) and the EU GDPR, BMTEC is the controller of any personal data we receive through this site or the app.

Rebite is a macOS menu bar utility that keeps your Mac awake using Apple's built-in caffeinate command and a handful of public AppKit APIs.

Data stored on your Mac. Your preferences (chosen timer duration, menu bar icon style, smart-trigger toggles, etc.) are written by macOS to your own user defaults at ~/Library/Preferences/us.bmtec.Rebite.plist. That file never leaves your device.

Data sent over the network. None. Rebite makes no network requests during normal operation. It does not phone home, check for updates against a private server, or report errors.

System permissions. Rebite uses AppKit observation APIs (e.g. detecting full-screen video, presentations, external displays, or power state) only when you enable the corresponding Smart Trigger. These checks happen entirely on-device.

If you install Rebite from the Mac App Store, Apple may collect aggregate non-identifying download and crash data on our behalf, governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive personally identifying information from Apple. Our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

Hosting. rebite.bmtec.us is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare records standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request time) for security and DDoS protection, retained briefly per their privacy policy.

No tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics service. No advertising cookies. The site sets no cookies of its own.

Fonts and assets. All fonts are system fonts loaded from your device. Images and scripts are served from the same origin.

The contact form at /support uses FormSubmit to forward submissions to hello@bmtec.us. The data you provide (name, email, topic, message) is processed only to deliver that email. We keep your message in our inbox long enough to resolve the request, and reply directly to the address you supply. We do not subscribe you to any marketing list.

You can ask us to delete your message at any time by replying to the thread or emailing hello@bmtec.us.

Rebite is a productivity tool not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has sent us a message, contact hello@bmtec.us and we will delete it.

Under LGPD, GDPR, and similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, port, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. The only data we typically hold is the message you sent us. Email hello@bmtec.us and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, if appropriate, note the change on the home page or via the app's release notes. Continued use of Rebite after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
